Trouble logging in to server

Hey there

I suffer from intermittent problems logging in from my home machine. Sometimes it works sometimes it does not. This is my user pattern.

i close down c4d at the studio and shutdown ( with the internet connection active and this should release my licence )
i load up c4d at home and get this message

could not find required licence

when i log into the website i can see my studio computer still has the licence but it is shut down so i cant manually release it.
i then have to unlock via the website and unlock via the browser UI but i am running out of unlocks

questions

can i get my unlocks returned to 5 ? is it bad to run out of unlocks ?
what am i doing wrong ? remember that this is intermittent. sometimes it works as Otoy describes, sometimes not

Hi Pete,
do you have a Mac at home or at work?
Do you have the same versions at home and at work?
Next time, before shutdown, could you try to sign-out from c4d:

and verify on OctaneLive if licenses are deactivated?

Hi beppe,
PC at both home and work. Stable connections at both locations, never have a failed upload or download. I'll log out manually as you suggest.

One more thing you could check please if whether the C4D process is still running using the task manager, as it may be hanging for some reason. If that's the case the license may still have not been released, which could be causing this issue.

I am having the same issue... shutdown c4d and computer, turn it on a few days later and I'm locked out. I never had this issue up until 3.03.2-R1. It's happened twice so far, both on my personal pc, no switching between workstations. This unlock countdown in the licenses manager makes me fear I'm going to be locked out when I need to use it for a job. I have faith this will be sorted out quickly yet I would still like my "unlock" credits reset... or some other method of monitoring/protecting against license abuse.

I do like how the new license system works (in theory), yet across the board people are still having problems. What gives? It seems like half the posts on the forum these days are people having trouble with the new licensing. Doesn't look good if any prospective new customers peers into the forums.
