· 44 TOPS INT8 (new deep learning inferencing instruction)
· 3,584 CUDA cores at 1.53GHz (versus 3,072 CUDA cores at 1.08GHz in previous TITAN X)
· High performance engineering for maximum overclocking
· 12GB of GDDR5X memory (480GB/s)
And here is the price: $1200.
No HBM2 though. Also, couldn't they choose another name?

I doubt it'll be same performance, even 980Ti and current Titan X aren't same performance and Titan X has like 200 CUDA more.
I believe with this price increase they a re making "room" for 1080Ti at close to 1000$ and probably slashed by 500 Cores so that would be 1080 2500 CUDA, 1080Ti 3000 CUDA and then Titan X Pascal (they could name it Titan XP instead Same name -confusion) at 3500 CUDA.
They made mistake with 780Ti which was having same CUDA number/speed and RAM as it was Titan Black and thy aren't gonna repeat that mistake again . So now Titan vs Geforce is more CUDA and more RAM and more $$$$$.

said OTOY CEO Jules Urbach. “It is a major reason why OTOY is merging Brigade and OctaneRender 4 next year, which will bring real time cinematic path tracing to both Unity and Unreal Engine.

... not trying to be cynical but more realistic ..
- judging by the past development, don't even get your hopes up for another year at least until something functional comes up, or even more, after the first beta comes out, expect a full year until it's polished for real life use .. :/
.. how long is octane 3.0 out
- I'm still not using it for production, even though I purchased two upgrades, it's more likely I'd use fstorm, since it at least has a convert option (which octane 3 doesn't - that's ridiculous)
