Camera Mapping issue convert to Octane C4D from Standard.

Hi there,

I really hope someone more experienced might be able to help me out. I've attached the project files so you can have a peak at the issue.

Basically, I am working with some camera mapping, and despite all odds I made it work in standard C4D. However, upgrading to Octane I've tried desperately to convert the mapping into the new engine. Some of the elements work just fine, but other does not seem to work. In this scene four sections of the ceiling looks completely off despite they have the same tags as the rest of the scene. I've tried messing around with it for hours, but seem unable to fix it.

If you open the sourcefile it's RoofBlock1-4 that are giving me problems. They don't seem to map on correctly. I am super new to Octane, so any help would be appreciated.

It's easier to see what I mean in the file itself since the scene itself is a tad dark.

Hope to hear from you soon :)

Hi MadsBroni,
I had a look at your scene, the issue is in the texture aspect ratio that differs from the image mapped aspect ratio.

Here is what you get if you change all the camera projections aspect ratio values from 1.778 to 1.489 in all the material tags:

Hi Beppe,

and thanks for your answer. It did solve part of my problem, but the mapping is still off. I do realize it's hard to see on that image, so here is another scene that is having the same issue. Here I only have the camera and a simple shape. As you can see here, the mapping is wrong - I've made sure the aspect ratio values are the same. It seems to work just fine with standard render, but not with Octane for some reason. Really hope you can help me out! Thanks!

Hi Mads,
have a look at this tutorial about Render Layer system, at 2':30" you can find the way to use the octane projection system instead ;)

Thank you so much Beppe!

I actually did find the scene files from Aoktar, and managed to figure out how to do it. I am happy to see in the tutorial that you actually have to manually position the projection. Thought I was doing some cheap tricks!

Exactly what I was looking for. Really, really appreciate it man!

Have a great day! :)
