backplates, hdri and ocatne; ironman:)

hi guys

i know this might seem like a bit of dumb question but could someone please tell me how to use backplates with there hdri's in octane or can someone direct me to a site or video that might explain that for me

thx in advance oh and as a little eye candy for eveyone
this is a part of whats gonna be in my showreel which im finishing very soon

yeah thx for the link :)

but what i want to know is how can i use a backplate in octane like u do when u render in maya its the same or something

I would say that you need to first setup your camera correctly with the backplate as reference in the scene, then when you have a nice match up render the model without the backplate in the scene, in another app like PhotoShop or Gimp you can create a background layer and use your backplate for that layer. You would also probably want shadows on your backplate, so probably place a plane underneath your model and use an alpha render of your model to keep only the shadow and your model.
