What is a curvature material used for?

I used Bitmap2Material to make tiled images and one of the exports is a curvature material. I'm just wondering what exactly it would be used for and where it would go in an octane material.
Thanks

"A curvature map is a texture that stores the convexity/concavity of the mesh."
This map is very usefull in progams like Quixell tools or substance =) but with small tweaks You can use it as a mask between different materials, let's say cleand one & dirty shader that would expose dirt buildup on certain parts of model.. or let's say.. clean painted material & bare metal so You would see metal being exposed on warn out parts like edges.
jsut google iup Curvature & see for soem egzamples =) however as is.. the map is not so usefull in Octane, but as mentioned, when tweaked could give You cool options.

You could use a curvature map to control a mix material node, but it might be of limited use.

I use them in 3D-Coat as well.
