Limited Region Rendering Doesn't Stop

Hi All

I seem to be having an issue with using Lightwave's Limited Region.
When I render a scene using Limited Region and rendering based on max samples, the render doesn't seem to stop.
To test it I set the max samples to a low 10. And its just keeps going passed that.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

This problem should be fixed in the latest daily build. Have you tried it?

Thanks a lot Juan :)

That sorted it great thanks :)

Can I ask you a quick question?
I am trying to find a way of working out how many samples i need before rendering very large image.
I thought I could select a limited region of the large image and then do some test renders by increasing the samples until I got a nice noise free image. Then when I have it right I would then disbale the limited region and render the full image. From my test I don't think that works as I am obviously not understanding what the samples means. Because when I did my test render the using the same amount of samples the limited region version was smoother than the full image. so I'm guessing that the render samples also takes into consideration the size of the render in some way. I though it meant samples per pixel. Can you help me understand this please?

Thanks :)

Have not played with the limited region on the new build but I'm guessing it's putting all the compute power into the new area...so your probably getting to a result you like much faster.

I would want all the compute power of the entire frame on one small area to see it quicker...but totally get why you want the other. Wonder if that can be achieved with a button or switch somehow...

Perhaps the render region samples should be scaled using the % of the surface rendered.

For example, if your render region is defined using the 20% of the full image surface, and it looks fine with 100 samples, the final image should have 100*5 (500 samples) to look the same, because the final full image has 5x more surface than the render region. Anyway I am not sure at all ... this is only an speculation.

By the way I want to thank you for making such a great piece of software that is very affordable and produces such incredible results :)
This software has totally reduced my rendering time on projects and made me more efficient at getting graphics back to my clients.
Thanks again :)
