ticking on the alpha channel gives me a transparante typical checkerboard background in the live preview render,but as soon as I render it out to the picture viewer it all gets a black non transparant background.

I've tried googling but I dind't find anyone running into a similar problem..

Be sure alpha enabled for saving and check the saved image.

Alpha is enabled in kernels (like the Tehchriis' was, I believe) - that's what you were suggesting, no?

Enable alpha in kernel+save image. And check it in pshop,AE,etc... not in picture viewer or window picture viewer. You'll see the alpha.

I've been checking it in AE - no alpha. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I came across one or two other mentions of this problem on the internet, but haven't seen a follow up with a solution. Thought maybe I was missing something else that's obvious.

Don't know! It's not understandable by me how that's possible! But it's alpha ready by default after set my adviced settings. See this most primitive scene.

Oh my god, thank you. I've made a horrible mistake and overlooked checking "alpha" in the Render Settings "save" tab. Thank you!
