Saving VRAM

Hey there,
I have a setup with 2x 980 ti, 6 gb ram and 1x 980, 4 gb ram. I am working on a scene with 3x gen 2 female figures and a furnished room. I am right at the point of using up all my VRAM (4 gig), so I was thinking what are some good ways to reduce the VRAM usage without losing too much fidelity? The characters are using diffuse maps, bump maps and SSS maps, I didn't look too deeply into the room materials. The character maps are mostly 4096*4096 pixels, which of the maps could be made smaller with the least influence on the visual? I am expecting some closeups on all of the characters.

In worst case scenario I could disable my gtx 980, but it seems like a waste.

There is a texture menu in Octane that lets you reduce the resolution of the materials used in your scene. Alternatively you could just turn on out of GPU textures and render that way. I've done an 8.5 GB render using my 4 GB GTX 980s. The performance impact is non-existant... 10%?

Where do I set this up within the plugin? I can't seem to find that option.
