When will Phoenix FD be supported

Do you know about when Phoenix will be supported.
And will octane render foam, splashes and wetmaps that are now particle based in Phoenix Fd 2.25 version?

Hi,
I am looking into collecting information regarding Phoenix FD and the Octane core team. Last I have heard, there was an issue regarding the extent of accessibility in the SDK that is a work in progress. To my understanding, Phoenix FD support is still on the cards, though the SDK issue needs to be resolved before we can talk time estimates.

Thank you!
By the way we use 2.25 Phoenix (nest built) and the demo one you see on their site is 2.20 which is almost 2 years old. Phoenix changed a lot since then. Even wetmaps are not meshed anymore it is actually a particle system that appears where liquid touches the surface, Then Phoenix uses those particles to create wetmaps using Phoenix texture maps. hopefully all this will work with octane

What about FumeFX is it ready to be used with 3ds max and octane 3 ?

Hey,
I can confirm that Phoenix FD will be fully supported in the v3 plugin. Fume FX, we have found, does not have an available SDK - this means we cannot integrate to the same extent that we can with Phoenix currently (this could change if the Fume developers change their position). It is, however, still possible to create effects in Fume and import as vbd into your scene. At the moment, I am looking into acquiring an additional Phoenix license for work and testing (as you pointed out, the Demo is essentially useless to work with due to it's age). v3 does work with Phoenix however, and will work with the Max plugin. I am still collecting more information on the matter (giving ETA's on anything has proven very touch and go lately). I know you have been waiting patiently for this support to be fully implemented, and I will be sure to keep you updated on the latest as it happens.

We will be upgrading to Octane 3 soon!

HEre is respond from Chaos about when Phoenix 2.25 will work with OCtane
"There are some things in the setup specific to 2.25, but I think you can also adapt it for 2.2 as well. No word on the Octane support for 2.25 or the upcoming 3.0 yet - the guys had issues with how the Modifier would handle more than one object type, since we split the simulator into separate fire and liquid sim, and I offered some ideas, but haven't heard if they had progressed on it yet."
I hope you guys will be able to get 2.25 version to work with Octane. Thank you

Hey,
Efforts to get Phoenix and Octane are still on-going. The aim is to have proper support for 2.25 by the next stable release version.

HI Azen
Sorry for bugging you about Phoenix FD. I have one more question
when Phoenix FD 3.0 will come out and Octane will support it will we be able to render Splash particles, wetmaps (they became as particle texture instead of mesh) and foam? Will we be able to use Phoenix FD foam texture, bubble texture with STANDARD MATERIAL SLOT inside Octane's RGB Image material?
Thanks a lot!

That is fine. It is important to get volumetrics up to their full potential across the board for all plugin users. It will be easier to determine once 2.25 is working well. Just to clarify, are you referring to using a 3ds Max standard material with Octane RGB Image map?
