Ray Epsilon Question

So I wasn't sure if this was a question for the plugin dev so I posted it to the Modo plugin section, but Paul thought this might be better suited for General Discussion.

Hi LFedit,
quoting from the OctaneRender standalone manual:
Ray Epsilon (rayepsilon)
The ray epsilon is the distance to offset new rays so they don’t intersect with the originating geometry. If the scale of your scene is too large, precision artifacts in the form of concentric circles may appear. In that case, increasing the ray epsilon can make these artifacts disappear.
In your example, I guess that your geometry is only few cm length, if the ray epsilon is too high, the new rays are too far away to catch the reflection.

Thanks. I suppose, I never thought of it as "catching the reflection" makes sense though.
