I need to purchase 2-3 video cards in June. Which ones?

I'm going to be using 2 or 3 cards in my computer and I need to purchase everything in June. Anybody have any idea on which cards will deliver the best performance per dollar? I originally wanted to get 1080s, but if multiple 980TIs (or something else) would be better, I'll just do that instead.

Hi, nobody knows because the 1080 is not working with Octane.
In theory the 1080 should be faster than a 980Ti and you get another 2 GB VRAM.
The 1080 need Cuda 8 and this is finished end of July or early in August from Nvidia.
May we get a test version of Octane for 1070/80 but who knows.
Make a deal with your seller to buy 2 GTX 980Ti in June and change it in two 1080 in August when the first benchmarks are out.
He makes another 300$ if you change and with a bit of luck it is only 4-6 weeks to decide.
Cheers, mib

Do you know if GDDR5x will make much of a difference in Octane? I can live without the extra GBs, but if polygons will load into the engine faster, then that would be a huge help.
