Hi, Im looking for information on how to import fx fron Houdini and render inside Octane in C4d.
How can I export from Houdini particles, smoke, fire.... I know geometry can be exported with alembic.
Any help?

If you post some houdini assets we can check it.

Im going to learn Houdini so I dont have any assets now. I have seen many videos on vimeo that are Houdini simulations and rendered in C4d.
Its logical because shading in Houdini its complicated. But I dont know if there are things that cant be exported to c4d and must be rendered in Houdini.

You can do it via alembic, or by reading .bgeo with an asset, this way you can import mesh, particles... as far as smoke/fire goes simply write it to .vdb and read it in cinema with Octane Volume object.
The drawback for now is that you can't use vertex maps, so any shading based on it needs to be baked into bitmaps.

So I assume that everything that can be done in Houdini can be exported and rendered inside c4d octane?

I'm noon on houdini and using assets. If anyone know and have scenes/assets please share it. Let's integrate if it's necessary.

Just search in vimeo "Houdini Octane" and you will find a lot of examples, some octane inside houdini but a lot houdini->c4d+octane
So a quick chart/workflow/guide for this would be very useful

I don't have time for that. I suppose you'll entitle that if you notify how much posts comes while trying to concentrate my work. I just need some premade scenes to check.
