Hi, is there any eta on when we gonna have the plugin out of beta? I feel this might go on for ages and most features requested by users are being ignored. Its actually disappointing that we paid for beta in the first place.

ps. still there is no "save" button in kernel or am i missing something? :x

it's truly pointless to even ask this question given the record of Otoy reps saying they are ramping up support for plugins and not following through. I'm giving up on Octane officially. I've got 2 standalone licences, a c4d license, a maya license and a max license. If anyone is interested, please let me know. They have not and evidently will not be upgraded to 3.0 because what's the point?

Gary I dont mean to be a drag..but i can see that JimStar is FREQUENTLY posting updates on the plugin work...might not be fair to say they will not release v3 plugins

Well, i see no progress. One thing fixes, another breaks and so on. Not one customer feature i seen implemented in v3 from what we ask here in forums. But i dont blame the developer. Things need their time to work proper and its totally respectable. I completely blame OTOY and their policy.
It is unacceptable that i bought a BETA product with no documentaion... Its totally unprofessional the politest word i am gonna use here.
And all i am asking is the ETA of a proper version and there isn't any...
We are about to drop octane in our studio and switch to other engine if this keeps going.

I totally agree. And the reason we are all here is that octane is a great engine if not the best out there. But that alone, is not enough.

Very true about it being one of the best engines and that alone is not enough. I'm loving the attention Redshift has paid to it's 3ds Max plugin. It is lightyears beyond the Octane 3ds Max plugin even though it's still in Alpha!!! I like Octane's imager and minimal settings approach but with such crappy plugins, none of that matters.

Half of the problem is looking at the money so many people have invested. Hard not to feel ripped off.

Firstly, I agree we need to do better with communication on these forums regarding the 3DS Max plugin. Shipping V3 simply spread our team thin, and I will be the first to admit that is not an excuse- all I can do is be transparent about why this has happened.

So we will fix this, starting with Azen providing continuous feedback on these forums so no one is left waiting on answers or updates form us.

Robsteady - spend 50 minutes watching both GTC videos and get your facts straight, then try posting again. We showed a fully functional denoiser - it's in the slides on the website. You can go buy Altus' product today and use it with 3.00 just as we did for these initial tests - even prior to the integrated system we are jointly working on with them for 3.1.

Will 3.1 be a free update for v3 owners?
