Hair Variation? (Octane Object Tag)

I believe the correct way to render hair in Octane is by adding an Object Tag and using the Hair options. Unless I'm missing something, however, this only lets you choose a uniform value for thickness (see attached).

Not completely right. Here tag is making the convertion of lines to hair. Plugin also support hair object.

Thanks! Which samples are you referring to, though? I have the xpTrail scenes you posted and I think they're uniformly thick.

Hair scenes. You don't need any examples. Just add a hair object to your scene.

Aoktar, I'm curious then if using a hair object whether it's possible to have differently colored hair strands still? When I use a hair object they all become the same color, which makes it much less useful.

The Hair object controls the physical dimensions of the hair and features such as Kink, etc. Octane material is used for color and this can accommodate variations.
