I want to buy the upgrade our studio to Octane 3.0 for 3dsmax now while the special is on, but as a studio we are not ready to move Octane 3. We are not ready to move due to the changes that were made to the Max plugin after Karba left. That is we are still working on a solution that will enable us to open 2.x files in 3.x
So the question is, if I upgrade my license to 3.x can i continue to use 2.x until we can fix the problem that was created by Otoy changing the plugin.? or will our 2.x licenses stop working?
If our 2.x licenses will stop working then we should be allowed to pay for our upgrade now but activate it later. ?

Why do you not use already existing solutions?.. If you have some issues with them - could you please explain what kind of issues?..

Hi voltaire585,
plus, regarding v3 license, if you upgrade your licenses to v3, you can always use any kind of previous commercial versions, v1.xx, v2.xx or v3.xx. The only versions that will stop to work at 1st of June are the v3 alpha and beta versions, but those are not commercial versions

Thanks beppe for the clarification.
Jimstar:
Problems we are having are due to files causing max to crash with the new plugin. Therefore any batch process dies when max crashes. Im talking to azen about it at the moment. Though we have spent 70 to 80 hours of time trying to get a working system for conversion of old files.

Try to use
the MOST RECENT 2.X version for import stage.
