Walkthrough and solar animation combined

Hi Paul,

It does not seem to be a Revit capability but I am wondering if it would be possible for you to somehow combine the walk-through and solar animation functions for Octane? So a 'hack' I guess would be to have the same amount of frames for both and then toggle them - something like animation frame moves / solar frame moves / render (?)

Long shot I know but it would be a great function!

Best,
Seeker

Interesting idea - although hard to implement I think. In Revit there is nothing that I am aware of that ties a sun position (at a certain time) to a walkthru position. Maybe it could be done by exporting the walkthrough to standalone, and providing a sun study export to ORBX too, and then you could copy the walkthough camera node (containing the camera animation path) into the sun study.

Thanks Paul,
I have not tried something like this before. Would the sun-study have to be ORBX?

I'll play with your suggestion as soon as I get some time. If you (or anybody else) have any further ideas, pray tell.

Exporting the sun study to Standalone is not possible in the current release - I would need to add this feature (which is not trivial). Another idea....you can set your position, date, time etc in Standalone to set the sun position - so in theory you could have a small LUA script to set the sun "time of day" with each new frame.
