I can't boot C4D with v.3

Hi
My C4D hangs at "initializing plugins" and never starts up.
It started out of the blue. One minute it was fine, next bootup it hang.
It works fine with v.2
I have tried downloading latests beta version and I have tried a 2nd C4D install. On the 2nd C4D install, C4D booted with v.3 and was working until I started Octane and it asked for user/password. As soon as I typed it, C4D crashed and same problem was back.
Please help
