Can anyone provide a sample max scene with a simple pool and water caustics?

I think you must use pmc render engine. But if you do underwater I would just buy fake animated caustics for the bottom at pond5.com

I didn't get it running too yesterday when I followed several hints, threads and tutorials. Very strange. Maybe use a caustics texture and thats it.

HI,

I will take a look for a suitable scene from our in-house collection to share here. If I cannot find one, I will put a simple example scene together as soon as possible. Hopefully that will help. One clarification - are you looking to render stills, or an animation?

you need a deformed mesh with displacement to simulate waves.
You have to use PMC and parallelism set to maximum.
