Render node?

Hello,

I can't look for render node threats cause there are very common words and they are ignored by server. So excuse me if my question have been asked before.

- I'm building my second GPU machine, I want to use my old one to render jobs of Octane, only renders I'm not interested on working with Octane on the old machine. In this case, Do I need to purchase a second Octane license standalone and C4d version? Is there a cheaper option that only let me render files but not work?

Cheers!

As far as I know you only need to have the C4D plugin + standalone license on 1 machine. The other machine still needs a standalone license.

Yes, correct, all the slaves need only a Standalone license to work in net-render.
Only the master needs both the Standalone and Plugin license ;)

Thanks for the feedback guys!

And how it works? I only know to use C4D plugin, Do I need to export the scene into octane file and then open there? Or is easier?

Hi JavierVerdugo,
it's super easy, no need to export or install plugins or share contents with each slave like any other net systems ;)
Just install the net demon on the slave and activate the net rendering in the LV menu and render settings for PV on the master. The master automatically prepare the scene, sending to the slaves only what they have to calculate and receiving back the results with no difference from a standard rendering, except for the speed.
Then you have the power of all the GPUs in your LAN (up to 20) not only for the final render, but also during the setting up of the scene that drastically speeds up the workflow ;)
