we use octane 3ds max

can you add an option where you can click on the preview screen and chose which part od the screen or object is always going to be autofocused, It is nice for cameras that slowly zoom in/ move towards an object . Sometimes camera does not focus to where you want to focus . We can chose manual focus and chose this object but if camera moves towards it, eventually that object will be out of focus

Would it be possible for you to link the focus distance to a Null Object/locator? Then you could just position the Locator wherever you want the focus to be, even if the camera moves it stays there.
At least that is how I would do it Cinema 4D. If this isn't possible 3ds max then I guess good old keyframeing ? Hope this helps!
