Light Gobo Issues

I'm having a terrible time getting anything remotly close to a light gobo. I have tried making everything like it would be int he real world...the light...light can....shield/shadower etc...but it always get's so blurry you can't make out the shape.

What could I be doing wrong? This is such an easy task in Native LW by adding the texture image and it projects light rays parralel with the image so there is not bleed....yes I've tried the same image in the texture/ies of Octane too. Just more fuzzy light.

Is there a way we could get the light rays of a light when used in this method to be so directed there wouldn't be any crossover? that wont help my deadline today though....

You need to make the emissive polygon as small as possible. As you can see in the attached image, the emissive polygon of this sample scene is really small inside the gobo box.

I guess that makes sense...since the actual light source is typically a small filiment! I did not try that...thanks!
