Octane C4D to Maya

Hi,
I have a model that was created and textured in C4D with the Octane plugin. However, my animator is working in Maya. Is there a way to export the Octane materials from C4D to Maya, assuming we have the Octane render plugin in Maya? Right now, the only way to get the model into Maya is by exporting an OBJ or FBX and importing to Maya via Z-Brush. Obviously, we loose the Octane materials that way. Any help would be appreciated.

No, there's no ORC or ORBX import in Maya.

The only way to import octane shaders in Maya is through Octane liveDB.
Eventually you can export all your materials to a temporary localDB on your network (share the same localDB path on the network with your animator).

Better to do it the other way, export the animated model from Maya to C4d through Alembic, apply the materials and render in C4d.

The Maya Plugin is up to now very limited. Hopefully the new Maya plugin will allow ORBX import...

But there is also another alternative to prevent loosing materials:
You could merge your textured scene and animated objects/cameras n the standalone.
So you feed it from both apps (C4D and Maya) including the new animations and animated cameras.

I like the idea of doing it all in the octane standalone. I think that gives us the most flexibility. Thanks so much, I didn't know it was possible to feed from both programs.
