GTX 970 still "decent" choice?

Working with Octane and Cinema 4D. It's time for me to get a better graphics card...my current GTX 650 Ti has speed that's not too bad, but only one MB of vram. The Titans are out of my price range for now, so I'm looking for something that's got 4MB vram and will render a bit faster than my current card.

Hoping to use my current card as the "system" card, and the new one dedicated to rendering.

This card looks to be in the price range I'm after at $360.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product

Has 1664 Cuda cores, 4GB 256-bit GDDR5

If anybody can suggest a better card in the same price range, I'd be interested.
Thanks

ghm, 360$ is a good range to get a bit better GPU..for the same amount You can get Kepler based 780 instead of Maxwell based 970. Speed wise those are going to be very similar, but You can get 50% more vram. Downside..780 might use a bit more under load, & then..the bigegst issies,, You can't find them so easily =) but if You're good to go online & look even for some used hardware..780 would still give You the best value the best. Few months ago with some Guys fro mothis forum I've grabbed multiple 7806GB new..those were priced at ~364$ (320EU) - so, just take a good look around.
