IES Lights Octane vs Vray + C4D

Hello together,

my problem is, that I want to show some IES files in new scenes done with octane.
Before I switched to octane I already did some examples with vray. Both with c4d (not sure if the same is for 3ds max?)

Are there any sources to learn more about IES lights in detail?
In my case there are many details lost in the rings on the light and the angle of the light looks totally different.

Maybe there is someone to help out or with some examples to see how to set it up correctly?

Thanks a lot!

Hi thorwaldhoffmann,
here is a simple example scene with both area and poligonal emitter with IES profile:
