Hey guys, check out this render im working on, is it normal to have to put the render samples up to 10000 with direct light? taking pretty long with a gtx 780 and gtx 750 approx 3:46 min per frame, and this is capped resolution because of demo. Just wondering if this is normal or if im doing something wrong, also even with 10000 samples when I brought in to blackmagic fusion compositor and started adjusting colours I started seeing noise come through on the car. Needs more samples?? I knew that most likely I would want more video cards, but seeing this, and how good I got this to look(this is the best Ive gotten a car to look so far, and its even better than some that I thought were pretty good on youtube), Im going to NEED more video cards, because I need to render animations. And i noticed that even 500 cores extra with rendering with gtx750 makes that bit of difference, which makes me wonder if I should get more gtx 780 6gb like I have or just go for 780ti 3gb, I dont know what cards to get next, plus nvidia announcing a bunch of new cards that supposedly are really fast.

Check out dropbox link:

P.S. dont mind the camera movements and lighting animation, this was quick test and I made some mistakes..
thanks

It depends on the scene but 10.000 is very high.
I usually render my outdoor scenes around 1000-2000 samples and indoor around 2000-6000 depending on lighting conditions and amount of artifical lights and their size. I use Pathtracing mode in 99% of all scenes.

EDIT: Your link gives me a 404 error.

also take a look at some of the lighting hitting the car, its like jagged pixels.. its throwing it off..

i dont know why i have to go so high on samples in all my scenes, im having diffulty making simple things look good.
