Hi,

With Octane 3 plugin making great progress, any plans for implementing PTEX texturing support in c4d? and idea how it will work?

Thanks

I don't have any plans without seeing OSL integration. Makes some sense?

OSL is basically they unicorn we need in order to determine if x-particles shader/per particle information in octane shaders will ever be possible right?

Im still holding my breath in hopes that true particles rendering with intelligent shaders is going to be possible with 3.0.

I would be happy to hear some good explanation about what exactly OSL means in terms of Octane?
I just know that OSL is Open Shading Language and it should give you (Ahmet) freedom to write some more shader/materials inside c4d.

If i missed some link / forum post that talked about this (even though i didn't found), pointing it will be great.

Thanks.

Just i know the capabilities of OSL. It has very big potential to complete the missed texture/material types. Even it's possible to write games in textures;)
I'm hoping that Otoy will provide very tight integration of that. Many extra possibilities may appear after that. So why i don't wanna talk about any plans without seeing it.

Btw, customized colors in instances(or particles) are a different story. I'm hoping to see new ways to do in Octane. We'll see...
