Batch rendering directly from Modo

So how are folks rendering a series of octane animations from modo?

Typical case - we have a series of shots and I would like to queue them up overnight and have them render, in this case all on the one machine.

I use deadline, this has an option to render jobs via stand-alone (which I have not got working yet). But what are the option going directly from modo? The recently released Rendermonkey 2 has a batch render feature, Adam tells me it should be possible to get it work with octane, so I will probably purchase it and try it out.

I was just interested to hear how others are doing it.

Thanks,
Darren

I doubt RenderMonkey would work with the Octane plugin without some modification. But happy to assist make that happen.

If you F6->Commands and scroll down to Octane, you can see some of the tools available. In particular octane.openViewport and octane.save can be used to start and save renders. However there is no current way to know when max samples have been reached, so your python script would need to render for a given time, parse the Octane render status window, or I will need to add a octane.isRenderComplete command to indicate if it is complete or not.

If its in the same scene I just animate the render camera, but if its separate scenes, that would be awesome to have...
