How to control Near/Far Z-Depth?

Trying to control my Z-Depth pass. Set up my camera and rendered a Z-Depth multipass using the C4D Standard renderer, but I cannot get Octane to give me a similar result.

Raising the Z-depth max just darkens the image. Playing with the DOF Map Front Blur/Rear Blur appears to have no affect on the Z-Depth render in Live Viewer.

How do I control the Near/Far?

We don't have near, just far. Also use render passes for z-depth not info kernel.

Hi muchogrande,
as Ahmet already said, we only have one direction, in Octane the DOF effect is always on and is not connected to the Depth channel like in c4d. The Z depth channel is more intended to be used to add fog or haze than to control of the DOF. The confusion also comes from the fact that in Octane the environment is treated as black while the output is inverted compared to the c4d one:

You can clearly see this if you add a far away plane parallel to the camera that takes all the frame:

As you can see the output is the same just inverted if the Octane Z depth is set to 8 meters and the c4d camera is pointed at 800 cm (without activating the DOF Map Front / Rear Blur option):

If possible, try to use 16 bit or even better 32 bit file format ;)
