Remote Desktop (RDP) - Octane does not find GPUs

When connecting through RDP to a Win 10 machine, running C4D R17 and Octane 2.25 R3, only the one internal GPU is being recognized, while the four GPUs attached through an Amfeltec rig are not.

If instead I connect to the same machine using Teamviewer, the cards are recognized.

Can anyone confirm this and maybe knows a workaround?

Use Vnc , RealVNC or whatever you like for remote connection.
It's a known issue of Windows when connecting with RDP .

Yes, the specific cause is that Windows loads up a special display driver that ignores hardware to efficiently send the desktop image back from the remote machine.

I use Teamviewer to get round it, but any 3rd party will work like Uncia says.

Keep in mind, if you once log in via RDP you have to re-enable all your GPUs again in the octane standalone renderer before you can render again.

Sometimes after coming back from a RDP session I couldn't even see the GPUs inside the C4D octane plugin settings. I had to go into the standalone and re-enable them there.

We now have a big "NO RDP EVER!" sign on all desktops in the office. Sometimes someone logs in into one of the render machines with RDP while its rendering and it breaks the render process without any notification.
