Reflections on refractive material sample ages

Hey guys,
Im wondering why a simple glass shader (specular shader, no transmission or absorption) renders refraction pretty nice... until I want to reflect some softbox or similar into it. The reflections look ultra grainy even after 2k samples or more.
Is there something I have forgotten or what could be the problem here?
