Interested in purchasing Octane for C4D on Mac OSX. Prior to purchasing I've tried to install the demo version with no luck.

The standalone version seemed to install fine and recognize my video card. However the C4D plugin does not seem to work.
I've tried installing the .dylib and .dat file in both the Maxon application plugins folder and the Library/Preferences folder.

System Specs:
Mac Pro 2 x 3.06 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 780 6GB
OSX 10.10.5
Cinema 4D R17 (R17.048)

CUDA 7.5.25 driver for MAC
Release Date: 1/20/2016

Installed the standalone version in my applications folder (drag and dropped)

Installed the dylib and dat files here (drag and drop):
MAXON -> CINEMA 4D R17 -> plugins -> c4dOctane -> c4doctane_R17_demo.dylib, liboctane_demo.dylib, octane.dat

I've made sure all the folders have read & write permissions.

The Octane menu shows up in C4D R17, but only a tiny drop down menu appears with no options. If I select the menu, C4D crashes.

Do you have also "res" directory in c4doctane?

That was it - missed the 'res' directory. Works now.

I have the same issue. I first had the stand alone version and the plugin working but a DLL error in C4D when starting it.
Latest CUDA drivers installed (standalone also works like a charm and is licensed).
I changed the firewall settings and also deleted a trial c4d-plugin I used in an older version of Cinema 4D(R13).
The I deleted all the c4doctane files (in the R17 and the R13 folder) as well as all octane related files in user/library/preferences/maxon/R17 AND R13
Then reinstalled it only in the R17.
Now have an activated and working standalone version.
Cinema 4D R17 not dropping errors,
BUT no Octane tab showing up in Cinema 4D R17.

Have the following in the Applications/MAXON/C4DR17/plugins/c4doctance folder:
• manual
• res
• c4dOctane_R17.dylib
• liboctane.dylib
• libtbb.dylib
• octane.dat
• readme.txt

Running OSX 10.10.5
Cinema 4D R17
Octane 3.02b
