I am in my first week of using Octane so bare with me!
I am using the same technique used in this tutorial: https://vimeo.com/96896069 and I was wonder if/how I can do it using Octane textures.
Any hints/tips/advice would be highly apprecticated!
Thanks in advance

Hi,
cool tutorial, thanks for sharing
you can follow the video till the material part, then you have to bake the texture animations as image sequences and use them in opacity channel or amount of a mix material or mix texture octane node

Cool tutorial! For the fun and X-Particles learning, i've made a little test with "C4D shaders" function (thanks to Aoktar!) and it works fine.
My skinner isn't well tunned but the tutorial from Mike Batchelor is also possible with Octane in C4D without baking the texture animation.
Thank you both for the tips. I will give them both a go!!

Here is the C4D file (R14)
alphaanime.zip
Thank you for attaching your scene file, but it won't open
It's saying 'Wrong File Structure'
Any ideas why that would be?
Thanks again.

Sorry for that.
I've downloaded and tested the file and it opens normally on my system.
I'm on Windows 10 64b and i've used the zipper from Windows.
