Material preview dark?

Hm ... what am I doing wrong? My material previews often look like this
http://i.imgur.com/1NvHQPD.png ... dark and unusable. I click another object and the material there is brightly lit...?

Yes, I have the same with materials called "Material". In my case, changing material's name fixes the problem.

Yes, had it too, didn't gave that much attention, it happens only in "sphere" preview
Renaming indeed fixes it
