Strange effect ??

Hi Can someone answer a question on what is causing this effect in LW Octane, its just simple polys Ive played around with smoothing on and off its very strange? 
It seems a problem with the ray epsilon parameter in the kernel node. Try to adjust this parameter, increasing or decreasing it.
