instances lw octane

I have a rectangular array, 400 x 400 instances. In the nodes I offset the instances with a underwater procedural.
When rendering with the IPR it works! When rendering the scene nothing happens, also the LW layout window does not update the instances then.
Please help!

Can you send me the scene. If you are rendering the scene in "update" mode, perhaps you don't have the "update instances" flag enabled.

Thanks Juanjo, it was the flag!
Question why do we need this flag? Why not default on?

Update the instancers can be slow in complex scenes, and sometimes it is not needed at all, so it is disabled by default to avoid long scene updates.

I did not have time yet to try 3.0....
Is it possible to have both on the same system?

Yes but not on same LW instance. Install another LW (into separate/different folder ofcourse) and then install OR 3.0 plugin there.
