Hi,

I recently bought OctaneRenderer and am following along with the tutorials on the website. I was just wondering if the scenes used in the videos are available to download anywhere? I find a good way of learning is to dissect the scene and play around with different settings myself to get an idea of what everything does, rather than just watching someone else. I know VRay offers lots of example scenes and studios to download.

Or if there are any third party places to download.

We have C4D->Releases section in forum. Below topics for downloading latest builds and also contains some sample scenes. Even help window contains some small examples.

I also noticed "OTOY Sample Scenes V1.2" download in the Resources section but when I click download it gives the following error "The file you requested does not exist."

Are these the same files as in the "OctaneForC4D-2.0-samples.zip" linked in the forum post?

I've downloaded the files you mention but unfortunately they bear little resemblance to the scenes in the tutorial videos! It would be much easier to learn if we could follow along directly with the scenes they are actually working on

I see some of the same models in the "OctaneRender_1_20_DemoSuite" zip but the scenes are in OCS format which arent much help.

Please would you be able to upload some scenes from the tutorials. Thanks.

By far the easiest way to learn new software is to follow along with whats being said. This is why teaching site Lynda.com for example offers project files to go along with their tutorials.

So please can we have the project files in the C4D tutorials. I have seen someone on YouTube using one of the scenes from the tutorial so some at least must be available to download from somewhere?

please, could you link the video tutorials that you are talking about? In general they are free and were made by different users so it is a bit more complicated

Hi beppe, thanks for the reply.

The main tutorials listed under the 'Resources' tab: https://docs.otoy.com/#28Cinema4D%20Plugin%20Edition

For example, the project files from the "OctaneRender for Cinema4D v2.x - Render Settings and Optimization" video would be useful so the viewers could adjust the render settings themselves too and see the results. Its more interactive that way and more helpful learning experience. Particularly where some of the tutorials are narrated by a computer voice (I believe), it makes it hard to concentrate!
