Standalone edit not working on octane render demo for C4d.

Hello
Total newbie and trying to work out Octane Render before investing the money. I have installed the Standalone version and also the plugin for Cinema 4D.
I try to create a very simple object in Cinema 4D like a cube and then I then I go to the File button in the Live Viewer and try to edit in standalone and nothing happens. I have already set the location of the stand alone exe but no joy. In fact nothing in this menu works. It does not export to png, package as orbx or ocs or edit in standalone. Is it because it is a demo version? If so how can I test it? I also exported as an obj file and tried to import as a mesh in geometry but could not see it in my viewport. Any help most gratefully received. Just spent £4K on a PC (originally a mac boy) just for the sole purpose of using this render engine!!!!!!
My experience of returning to windows so far has not been enjoyable
Running Windows 10...

Any extra information would be great. Which version? Can you get render output in LV? What's your gpus?
Can't remember well but any saving functionality is disabled. If we didn't you can easily use it as an exporter for standalone scenes.

Hi aoktar and thanks for getting back to me.
I have 2 Nvidia Titan X cards.
Octane Render Stand Alone version is the latest: demo_2_24_2_win64
Octane C4D plugin version is the latest: Demo-2.24.1-R3
Does not work in C4D R16 & R17
If the saving functionality is disabled you should grey it out or remove as at the moment you click it and nothing happens so it appears broken. What I am trying to do though is model in C4D and then colour in Octane but at the moment I cannot do that.
Look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Keen to try this render engine out as I have made a big outlay in moving in this direction after all the hype about the software
Cheers
M

Thanks for advices. I'll take a look for that.
"Does not work", this is not giving any idea to me.
1-Do you see Octane menu?
2-Do you have R16.050 or never?
3-Do you have nvidia driver newer than 344.xx?
4-What do you see in Settings->Devices, any gpu as in image?
5-What do you see in Console window?
Why don't post a few images to give any idea?

OK, here is hopefully a bit more information. I have included a screenshot which should explain some of the bits you are asking for.
When I say it is not working I mean that when any sub menu button is pressed on the menu item "FIle" as shown in the attached image, nothing happens. No dialog box appears, no error message appears, no octane render app appears and the menu itself does not even disappear. It is as if the menu item has not been pressed but it has.
Please look at the attached image and let me know if that helps diagnosing the problem or if there is something more specific you need?
Thanks
M

Hi,
Thanks but there is not any problems. Any saving or exporting is disabled in DEMO versions. That's expected behaviour.

Thanks for confirming that. Might be an idea to actually disable them or have a popup error message as at the moment it just fails silently with no explanation.
Thanks for confirming though
