FBX from sketchup - 325mb - very slow

hi

i have a siteplan build in sketchup, that i would like to import into 3ds max, using the fbx file format.

i have done this many times before, but this model seems to be somehow to complex or to 'heavy' :-/
it goes from 0% to 100% in 2-3 minutes - now 3ds max thinks for ever :-/

does anyone have any tips on linking between sketchup and 3ds max?

thanks

Forget the FBX,

Just do a straight SU to Max import.

best,
O

that might be, but the big advantage of fbx (and revit), is that it's easy to update via file > links > update.

not sure you can this with sketchup files?

If they are a lot of separate meshes I suggest you to attach them into single bigger ones.
It helps a lot.
