You cannot purchase and use only the Maya plugin and use it without also owning an activated copy of OctaneRender™ Standalone on your machine
.

If you do not own an OctaneRender™ Standalone Edition License yet:

If you already own one or more OctaneRender™ Standalone Edition licenses you want to pair the plugin with:

Cheers Jim.

No luck with the procedural displacement?

In the substance shaders, there's a bake command '$sbs_AutomaticBakeCheck = 1;' for automatically baking textures on the fly. Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Thanks for the update.
I am testing the motion blur feature because it gave me trouble sometimes but I don't understand why is it crashing / stopping sometimes.
I have setup a simple scene with a sphere moving from A to B (with a key on position A and B). A is at frame 1. When I set a key for posiotion B at frame 30 and try to render from frame 1 to 30 it is stopping because Octane4Maya needs more frame to solve the motion blur (10 MB time samples). So I set it to 19 and it works. Ok sounds logically so far. But sometimes it behaves strange. I use the same setup with 40 frames and set the batch duration from frame 1- 25 and it will still crash/stop.
I hope that the motion blur issues will be fixed. I know that there might be a logic behind, but this should be fixed automatically or at least give a hint in the feedback promt to know how the user can fix this.

Hi Jim,

Any news on when or if we will get coloured lights back instead of temperature controlled?

Any news on when we'll get Octane render layers to export in batch mode? I.e., some way to save out all the render layers without having to manually render them one by one?

Hi,

I was just testing the open subdiv rendering within maya. The Octane Level attribute is working fine when we set to Geometry type to Reshapable Proxy mode. Sharpness is also working when I try to increase the amount. The problem is once sharpness is set to a value, it is ignored when I stop the ipr render and render second time around. if I play with the sharpness value again, it does apply the sharpness again. The sharpness value not sticking.

I think we should have bouth temperature and a option to plug any texture colour on the lights. Sometimes is really good to have as a any render engine like Iray, Redshift, cycles and etc.. Gpu render. But again that's my point the view.
