C4D scene with forest, live preview optimization?

Hi,
I'm working on the master shot that suppose to look close to a Disney intro.

I started from small amount of trees (total around 500 at this moment) but octane live preview can't proceed them already. At least when I press "send your scene" it just stack there and I have to ctrl+alt+delete to end the c4d process.

So, here's the scene.

I used pyramids instead of trees (via expresso switcher) for now just to speed up the viewport in C4D.
I used 4 trees with mograph cloner. As you can see, the scene doesn't look too crazy but I don't know what I can do to see it in Octane live preview. With pyramids - it works. but when I turn on trees, BUM, doesn't work.

my system: 4790k 4.0Ghz, 32gb ram, 2 x GTX 980 4gb, 1 x SSD for system, 1 x SSD for Apps, 1 x SSD for cache and scratch.

what can optimize the scene, or there's no choice but to upgrade the system?

Keep your self away from high polygons and always use render instances for similar scenarios.

I do a lot of forest type work too and ended up buying this plugin last week its been pretty good.

Another member here used it with octane and made some amazing results

Thanks Jonahan, but I think that plugin doesn't help with optimization of the resourses really.
From my understanding it just arranges trees on the object and gives you opportunity to manipulate with some parameters.
I think my system will slowed down even more with it :-/

But I think it would be cool if you'll put 1500 trees on the ground and see how it works together. I have a feeling the whole thing just will stack there. But maybe I wrong. If you have a copy, please show when it comes to massive scale forest. Not just 1 tree.

If it really works well (which hard to imagine, just counting amount of polygons) I'd buy it.
