2.42.2 update clears my settings and shaders

I just updated to 2.42.2 to give it a try and it seems to have cleared all of my shaders to default white and erased my render settings. Is this how it's suppose to work? Obviously I can't use this on any current projects.

i also just woke up two weeks ago.
read most of this:
viewtopic.php?f=80&t=48207
then do not get too upset
then try this if you like:
viewtopic.php?f=80&t=50645
i have not done the switch yet. thinking about having a virtual machine running all the time to be able to get important assets faster.
or batch process the whole server data...

Even from 2.23.2? Jeez, ya I'll have to wait longer I guess.
