DOH! I am still having alembic texture issues

She looks great here
bump issue 1.png
not sure what happens here -- am I changing the bump in the right area/section?

:-( I know I am probably becoming a pain but I am still having alembic textures issues. Weird cause when I pull her in as a simple obj. she looks great--its only when I try to use the textures on the alembic coverage that I have issues. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I have tried both attaching the spaghetti nodes and dropping the obj in and applying textures that way -- nothing seems to work.... :(

I put the picture here to make sure I am changing this in the right spot--am I supposed to change the bump in the mesh area??? I am so confused...or just stooped. Or both. :geek:

Yes, as you can see the bump is set at 1 that is a very high value for Octane
Have you correct the materials in DAZ before exporting?
What happen to the bump if you export in orbx directly from DAZ?
The scale is correct for the alembic file?

The materials look awesome in Daz--do you think it would work best if I did some tweaking prior to exporting...?

If I export the orbx directly the textures look terrific -- it sonly when I exchange the geneis object with the alembic and put textures on them that they look messed up. I have tried taking the values down to no avail...it still looks weird.

Also--I was trying to render test animations (pngs frames) but can't seem to get the animation to progress. It creates one still out of 230 plus frames. Here's my render settings --am I doing something wrong again?

mmm, the only strange thing that I see in your screenshot is the "!" in the path. Please, try to avoid special characters in the path.
Could you share a simple scene with me (here or via private message)? I would like to make some tests based on one of your DAZ scene ;)

Okay, so what it looks like is the file j keeps being over written--instead of writing mirrors 1, mirrors, 2, mirrors 3, it keep writing mirrors over and over...is there a lua script fix for that? If so could you take me through the process. I don't know anything about lua scripts but I think that must be some kind of glitch and that may be the only way to fix it....

Apologies, my bad, looking better at your screenshot (and at the numerous post that you have made) it seems that you have completely destroyed the file name template :)
Fortunately it seems that other users have already brought you on the right track ;)
Anyway, the default file name template is "%n_%f_%p.%e", where:
  • %n is the name of the render target node,
    %f is the frame number,
%p is the render pass name,
%e is the extention of the image file saved,
you can also add:
  • %i render target index number,
%t time of the rendered image in h_m_s,
Please, next time avoid cross posting, it's hard to track your request and could be confusing for other new users, thanks ;)

Yeah, I do apologize...I'm like a poodle in a hot house when I get frustrated...I'll mind my manners next time. But I thank you...if only you live in GA I'd toast yah, drinks on me! :-)

You are welcome ;)
It's quite normal to get nervous when the things does not work as expected :)
Happy GPU rendering :)
