Hi,

So I've tried to set up the network rendering in Rhino, without success.
I can get to see the other computer since I've updated the standalone, even if on one side I was able to see the computer before that update it was unavailable.

Here is what I've done so far:

- Updated Standalone and Octane render Rhino to the latest version on both computers
- Authorised access to the related files in the firewall

what I'm not sure:

- do you need to run the Octane Daemon program in parallel of the Network rendering in rhino ?
- what are the settings required during the Octane daemon install?
- In the Network rendering in rhino, do I have to turn Auto configure On or not?
- What about the Octane Log?
- Is there any clear Install documentation available?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

But I still can't get the slave to show as available.

This is what i do, please let me know where I'm wrong?

- On the master: I run rhino and Octane standalone 2.24.1
- On the slave: Octane standalone 2.24.1 and run octane_slave_daemon.dat (from my startup menu set to default)

On the master in Rhino, I enable network rendering with auto master port on, and the slave but it's unavailable.

If you use the Rhino plugin, don't run the Standalone on the master computer. And on the slaves you don't have to run the Standalone either.

So it's probably best to shut down every thing except the slave daemons. Then start Rhino with the plugin, go to the network settings and make sure that the daemon post is the same as the one you set up when you installed the daemons. Also make sure that network rendering is actually enabled and the correct subnet has been selected.

If that still doesn't work there is probably a firewall blocking the master and/or the slave. If you switch it off temporarily, the daemons should become visible in the master net render settings dialog. Let me know, if it still doesn't work in which case we have to dig a bit deeper.

I'll finally figured what the problem was

The latest standalone version 2.24.1 wasn't matching the latest rhino plug-in 2.23.2, my mistake.
