Octane proxies would be the fastest way to take an octane scene from rhino and animate or extend that in maya.
JimStar, will this be implemented in the next update?

Hi JimStar,
could you please let me know if Octane Proxy import is / will be possible.
I need this feature to save time on an upcomming animation job taking a scene over from Rhino.
This is urgent.

Hi Refracty, how's it going? Actually, the first party plugins (maya, max, blender) can export to orbx/alembic/obj for use in the standalone, however, the other way around is much more complicated. There are also no new features being implemented at this point, only bug fixes, as the plugins are being made as sturdy and stable as possible in preparation for onslaught of updates that will be brought about by v3. I hope this clarifies...

Thank you for the clarification.
Since the Rhino plugin can do I was hoping Maya could do too. To model in Rhino and animate in Maya is a common workflow and so this feature would save tons of time.
But I get your point - Now we are in a polishing phase of V2 so such a feature would be too much of a change.
I hope this will be added one day soon.

Any information about ORBX file import into Maya.
Also workarounds are welcome.
