'Send all data' MUCH faster than movable objects only??

I may be doing something wrong, but when I use 'send movable objects only' the render per frame is much slower than when I just use 'send all scene data'

The only problem is I can not get motion blur or subdivision to work when 'send all scene data' is used even though I am using 2.24.1 ... i'm completely lost.

To compare; when I use 'send all scene data' - it takes ~2:26 to render the first 5 frames vs nearly 7 minutes when i use 'moving objects only'

Not a correct point. First you should understand the different. It convert all meshes to a collected single mesh. So it loose some indivual mesh options. You should understand the basics of Octane Scenes. Mesh, Object Layer, Layer Map. Attached a pdf to show the worklow.

Speed loss can be related with lot of indivual meshes in Octane Scenes. But there is no any rules like "Send all data" is faster. If you use "Resend only updated objects" and have a few movable meshes, exported structure will be similar. Unmovable objects will be exported as a collected single mesh and you'll have a few indivual meshes. So speed will be same. Also notify the "Geometry Control" parameter. If you use "All movable", you can have lot of indivual meshes. I hope you can see the logic.

Thank you very much for the explanation, I had no understanding of ObjectTag and had too many of them.

Object tag has a few roles. But first one is to provide partial updates to animated objects. This is biggest reason to use it. In last versions i have added some options to avoid requirements for object tag on animated objects. In LV, check geometry+All movable or in render settings "Auto mode" and "All movable". You can think why we go to this complex ways. Reason is that geometry convert/compilation is slow in Octane. We are decreasing the process time of geometry with these systems. Also having some advantages over other renderers. With proper settings and setups, short preparation times are possible in animation renderings. Best is to watch following tutorial from Inlifethrill's page.
