Hi
On the weekends i work in college teaching 3dsmax, last week i though that i could show students how octane woks and assign them a task to render their work and show it off on the college's facebook group, collection of the best works would be presented on the college's web page.
The problem is that every computer runs on a GTX 275 card which has a compute model 1.3 , is there a way to make octane work on this graphics card? maybe some older version?

hi,
there is the free student licence version that is limited to the v1.2 version, I guess it should be perfect for GTX 275:

It does not work in 3dmax 2016, when i install the 2.04 plugin with 1.20 standalone i get error message saying that this version of the plugin is not suitable for 2.0 version. When i install 1.20 plugn i get error message when i run 3dmax 2016 and octane wont start.
the GTX 275 has a 1.3 shading model

Why do you want to use a old version on the latest 3dsmax? It makes no sense. Either use a newer Octane version, or an older 3DSMax version, or upgrade you card..

I hoped that the free, older version of the plugin will somehow work on 3dmax 2016 (not have the functionality of 2.0 but be compatible)...... The school will not upgrade their hardware or buy newer octane version so i asked for an older version of 3dmax.
