Hi Paul,
Thanks for your work.
I use the Octane for rhino long time and find this bug, I wish you to fix this bug.
1. Environment- Texture Environment to select HDR file for Lighting the scene, You can find the HDR Environment vray dark but object is very bright, this is not true. Please Fixed this.
2. Put on a Alpha label map(transparent) on the glass object. You can find It's not totally transparent. It has a light reflection. Please Fixed this.
3. I can't set a picture for render Background picture like compose object images and background picture together. Does this function work?
4. Can we render in rhino viewport and Lighting to object with Hdr Light Studio (like vray for rhino with HDRLight Studio LINKS:
https://www.lightmap.co.uk/hdrlightstud ... s/rhino3d/)
5.Is it possible to use rhino command line to import Rendertarget Settings ? I have saved more Rendertarget Settings files to import by rhino command for hot keys working for this.
Thank you very much !
Alxen

Hi Alxen

Not sure what you mean by this. Perhaps the gamma is wrong? For HDR images use a gamma of 1.
2. Put on a Alpha label map(transparent) on the glass object. You can find It's not totally transparent. It has a light reflection. Please Fixed this.
Assign a Grayscale Image to the Opacty with the Labal-02 Alpha.jpg image.
3. I can't set a picture for render Background picture like compose object images and background picture together. Does this function work?
Saving a render does not save the background. You need to add the background in post processing (using Gimp or Photoshop).
4. Can we render in rhino viewport and Lighting to object with Hdr Light Studio (like vray for rhino with HDRLight Studio LINKS:https://www.lightmap.co.uk/hdrlightstudio/connections/rhino3d/)
Yes, rightclick the Settings tree and tick "Sync Octane Enviro to Rhino Enviro", and the plugin will use the HDR Light Studio image setup in Rhino.
5.Is it possible to use rhino command line to import Rendertarget Settings ? I have saved more Rendertarget Settings files to import by rhino command for hot keys working for this.
Yes, use the OctaneImportRendertarget command.

I suspect you have edited the wrong material. The material for that label is called "Label-02", whereas you have edited material "Octane Material 001". Also, there is a material update bug which is fixed in the next release which might not be helping - so "Refresh" to be sure the new material as been applied in the Octane scene.

And the lable is not work well.
The material is correct, however the vertices of the label with an opacity of 0 are causing self-shadowing issues with the vertices of the bottle causing the green color you are seeing. Setting the kernel->ray epsilon slider to it's minimum value seems to fix the problem.
Very nice wine bottle model. Good job.

Hi Paul,
ok, it works done. Thank you!
ray epsilon is the shadow ray offset distance. Why does it affect the transparent label map display?
If I need to add the background map or color with render not in post processing (I dont want to using Photoshop in post processing), does it work with octane render for rhino?

I think the green you could see was actually the green from the bottle reflecting only the back of the label. The vertices of two meshes will cause artifacts if there are within the ray epsilon distance of each other, and one of the vertices has an opacty < 1.

Octane does not current provide any way to save the background image with the rendered image. You will have to do that outside Rhino (in Gimp or Photoshop).

Hi Paul,
I have updated the new version: 3.0.0.57.
I have Set the kernel->ray epsilon to 0.001 (default value)
Then I have Set the kernel->ray epsilon to 0.00001. The glass shows a black point. How can I do?
