Hello,
I'm trying to get the motion vector pass but I only get a grey color layer. Is this normal? What am I doing wrong?

Hi JavierVerdugo,
no, if the pass is totally gray there is no motion information. Here is a simple scene where it works:

Appreciate your help, what I tried is to render the scene without motion blur, and get the motion vector pass so I can get the motion blur in after effects, is this not possible then?

I guess you have to make two rendering, beauty with mblur disabled and then, motion vector with mblur active.

If you enable the motion vector, motion blur is disabled in the beauty pass. There's no point in the extra render time for motion blur if the user is going to do motion blur in post via the motion vector. You don't have to do 2 renders.
Note that the motion vector can have negative values as well (movement to the left or bottom), these pixels will still be displayed as gray. Export the render to OpenEXR and have a look at the raw values. Make sure you have a look at the manual entry
here.
cheers,
Thomas

Even better! Thanks Thomas for the clarification, here is the previous scene updated with proper multipass settings:
