Hi there,

I am quite sure, that it´s not possible yet, but - just in case that i have missed something - here my question:

Is there a way to create 18K stereo cube maps VR videos right now? I mean rendering several frames is of course possible, but is there a way to view this as a movie on Gear VR? If so: Which videoformat and which player/viewer.

Thanks a lot for an answer. :)

Best,

Chriz

My understanding is that the ORBX Viewer 2.0 OTOY has just sent for approval (see here viewtopic.php?f=98&t=49621&start=10) will be able to play those files.
Goldorak, correct me if I'm wrong.

It's supported in the new viewer we just pushed out to the App Store. See the ORBX 2.0 viewer thread.

Compression is a post processing step we are adding for 60 fps 18K cube map videos rendered on ORC. Size can be huge, but not unexpected considering ~60x more pixels than broadcast 1080p video.

Hi Rikk!
Hi Goldorak!

You guys are fast! I can´t even comment your answers in time! :)

Ok, thank you for that information! As I understand, documentation/samples will follow. I have seen that thread, but didn´t know, it contains the answer on my question. ;)

Really exited how this will work and looking forward to test it!

Best,

Chriz
