Just started to try Octane plug-in for Autocad and got a biggest hurdle to start with no graphic shown in Viewport and help will be appreciated, also if I don't want to use the plug-in how can I import autocad files to Octane standalone.

Many Thanks!

Hi - this is most likely due to a) out of date Nvidia drivers, or b) an unsupported graphics card. Check the Octane Log in the Cuda Devices tab - it may contain an error indicating the cause of the issue. What graphics card to you have?

Hi Paul,

the log are :
Could not load 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\1\Mats\Concrete.Cast-In-Place.Flat.Grey.1.jpg:rgba'.
Could not load 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\1\Mats\beechwood_amaretto.png:rgba'.
Could not load 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\1\Mats\beechwood_amaretto.png:mono'.

I have tried both Autocad 2014 and 2015, I'm using a NVIDIA K2000 Graphic Card, just bought it a couple of months ago, didn't know that this is less powerful as GTX 660Ti.

I have also tried Octane standalone and I work just find, the rendering from the downloaded samples scene works good.

Thanks Ben

K2000 should be fine.

Since Octane Standalone is rendering fine, it sounds like it's a specific problem with the plugin.

1) Check your AutoCAD camera setting adhere to the requirements of the plugin - https://docs.otoy.com/#33Octane%20Camera
2) When you open the Viewport, can you post a screenshot of the status bar (at the bottom of the viewport), showing the number of meshes, vertices, etc.
if I don't want to use the plug-in how can I import autocad files to Octane standalone
If you open the Viewport, you can then export the Octane scene to OCS or ORBX format by rightclicking the Settings tree. The exported file can be loaded into Octane Standalone.

Thanks

Paul

In addition to the above - make sure you are viewing a 3d perspective view, not 2d.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the reply, I was able to view it now, I have change to setting to WCS, and it works great.

Thanks,
Ben
